Ok, so, I know we wear sunglasses all year round. But there’s just something about the warmer weather that makes me want a new, fun pair of shades. Unfortunately, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by all the brands, colors, shapes and trends.
Luckily, I have compiled a guide to help you find a pair (or five). Part I of this series will focus on the Aviator.
Last night, Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara hit the red carpet in L.A. at the TCL Chinese Theatre to promote their new movie, Hot Pursuit. Their outfits matched my expectations of this movie: mediocre.
My thoughts exactly.
I would have loved to see Sofia Vergara play the uptight cop and Reese play the mob boss’ girlfriend. Fight typecasting, ladies! You’re just perpetuating stereotypes.
On Monday night, the cast and crew of Avengers: Age of Ultron gathered at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for the world premiere of their film, which is in theatres on May 1.
The Avengers: Age of UltronScarlett Johansson in Stella McCartneyStella McCartney FW 2015
Scarlett Johansson, who gave birth in September, looked amazing in this FW 2015 Stella McCartney number. I love the asymmetrical hemline and that peek of leg that keeps this dress from being frumpy.
I especially love her slicked back updo and simple makeup. I would only change her heels; a higher heel would look even better with this look.
Spring has been such a tease this year. Is the snow melting? Will it snow again? It looks cloudy today, will it rain? With these questions comes the all-important decision of what shoes to wear in the morning.
I love fashion in all its uncomfortable and unforgiving glory but I also appreciate the practical needs of a modern woman. I aim to give my readers great options that are also versatile and practical.
Thus, for those who don’t have the luxury of wearing Converse or Toms sneakers (and don’t want to tromp around in Hunter boots) to work during this melty season, I’ve compiled a list of three work-appropriate pre-spring shoes:
The Black Laceless Sneaker
Comfortable, sturdy and trendy, this black sneaker complements virtually any outfit. The leather, perforated version is my personal favorite and looks as good with jeans as it does with a pair of black cigarette pants.
Style Tip:Show your ankles to elongate the legs by rolling up your pants or wearing sneakers with cropped pants.

Day 5 was a quieter day at Cannes, with the Dario Argento’s Dracula 3D and Amour premières.
Amour Première
Diane Kruger in Vivienne Westwood
By far our favorite look of the day, Diane Kruger literally dazzles us on the red carpet in this Vivienne Westwood number. While it’s quite similar to Stacy Kiebler’s Marchesa number at the Oscars, we have to admit that we much prefer Diane’s version. The only thing we aren’t fond of is her hair; we would have preferred something a little softer to contrast the metallic.
The 2012 Billboard Music Awards, held last night at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas, handed out 12 awards to the amazing Adele (none were televised). And she wasn’t present to accept even one of them. Modern Family‘s Ty Burrell and Julie Bowen hosted the evening, which featured performances by Carrie Underwood, Katy Perry, Carly Ray Jepsen and British boy-band The Wanted as well as Chris Brown and Justin Bieber (both lip synced).
On the red carpet, we surprisingly saw some gorgeous gowns as well as a lot of casual looks. The Billboards aren’t exactly the Grammys so the dress code is sort of up in the air. Nonetheless, we love to see couture on the red, err white, carpet.
Carrie Underwood in Oscar de la Renta
This lavender and steel blueish Oscar de la Renta is gorgeous and though she’s probably over-dressed for this award show, she looks so fabulous that she gets away with it. We’re not completely sure if we like the disarray of fabric and lining (we definitely prefer some of the other gowns from Couture 2012) but we accept it as, historically, music award shows feature more eccentric and daring looks on the red carpet.
Jessica Chastain in an Herve L. Leroux dress and Giuseppe Zanotti slingbacks
For her second film at Cannes, Lawless, Jessica opted for a more mature day look with this printed top, simple skirt and heels, which work perfectly for a morning photo call. We would have liked to see something simple in her ears or on her wrists, though; a simple black watch would have completed this look.
Day 3 of the Cannes Film Festival saw slightly less star-studded screenings including Mystery, an extended version of Once Upon a Time in America and the animated Madagascar 3.
Le Grand Journal Set
Eva Longoria in an Elie Saab jumpsuit
We’re in full-fledged jumpsuit and romper mode now and so completely endorse this Elie Saab number. The deep neck breaks up the monotony of the solid color as do the small metallic strips. It’s a perfect day look.
ay 2 of Cannes saw screenings of Jacques Audiard’s De Rouille et d’os (Rust and Bone), as well as Yousry Nasrallah’s After the Battle, a biopic of the Egyptian Revolution. Marion Cotillard in Christian Dior
We adore the black and midnight blue combination of this gown as well as the simplistic styling and up-do. Combined with a sweetheart neckline, the whole look is classic and majestic, perfect for Cannes.
